The Pennsylvania Young Reader's Choice Award is sponsored by the Pennsylvania School Librarians Association. The purpose of the award is to promote the reading of quality books by young people in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, to promote teacher and librarian involvement in children's and young adult literature, and to honor authors whose works have been recognized by the students of Pennsylvania.

The Picture Perfect STEM and Picture Perfect Science Lessons were developed by Emily Morgan and Karen Ansberry to help those working with elementary students integrate science and reading in a kid-friendly way. GSK Science in the Summer™ is a free science education program that helps elementary school children “grow into science.” Through classes held in public libraries and other community-based organizations, the program gets kids excited about learning science with hands-on experiments. 

Located in the field behind the amphitheater stage, StoryWalk is a children's story book that is spread out page by page across 19 reading stations along an approximately .25 mile trail that promotes health and literacy in children.
