All kids going into Grades 1-6 are welcome to join our Pen Pal Program! After filling out a short questionnaire, you will get matched with a Pen Pal who lives in another town in Delaware County. Write letter between you and your Pen Pal and drop them off and pick them up at your local library!

Pennsylvania's One Book, Every Young Child is a valuable program that highlights the importance of early literacy development in preschoolers and the significance of reading early and often to children, as well as engaging them in conversation and other activities around books.

The Pennsylvania Young Reader's Choice Award is sponsored by the Pennsylvania School Librarians Association. The purpose of the award is to promote the reading of quality books by young people in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, to promote teacher and librarian involvement in children's and young adult literature, and to honor authors whose works have been recognized by the students of Pennsylvania.

GSK Science in the Summer™ is a free science education program that helps elementary school children “grow into science.” Through classes held in public libraries and other community-based organizations, the program gets kids excited about learning science with hands-on experiments. 

Located in the field behind the amphitheater stage, StoryWalk is a children's story book that is spread out page by page across 19 reading stations along an approximately .25 mile trail that promotes health and literacy in children. 

This year’s Summer Quest theme is Tails and Tales! Libraries across Delaware County will be offering fun programs and activities related to animal tales and education, so check our library calendar as summer gets closer. Beginning on June 1, all Delco Libraries will offer a Tales and Tails on-line reading challenge.  Pre-registration will begin May 17th.
