The Delaware
County Library System (DCLS) and the 26 member libraries are participating
in the statewide Summer Reading Club.
School
summer reading lists.
The program
includes story times, songs, games, craft activities, fun contests,
and special events (schedule below). Participants in the program
will have the opportunity to read for pleasure with the added
incentive of earning prizes. Each of the libraries will offer
Summer Reading Club and Express Yourself
@ Your Library (for teens). Check with your
library for dates, times and registration.
“Howl
at the Moon…With a Wild Thing Tune!” Join
singer and guitarist/banjoist Tome Sieling for a program with
humorous songs about our natural world. A very participatory family
program for all ages that also promotes reading and library visits.
Monkeys in
the House: Flap your arms, tap your feet and untap your
inner monkey. John Hadfield’s unique show will surprise
and entertain the entire family. John sings, dances, spins plates,
tosses hats, turns his head around backwards, banters with a wise-cracking
robot bird and sings a duet with his imaginary friend Tippytoes
who comes to life in front of the audience’s eyes.
Segal Puppets
with Dave Fiebert. Back by popular demand is this very
entertaining puppet show which will enthrall young and the young
at heart.
Two of a Kind-
Sing Your Arts Out. Take part in this interactive program
that includes visual arts, poetry, dance and drama featuring songs
about reading, books and the creative arts. A great program for
the whole family
