SUMMER EVENTS 2008

REGISTRATION REQUIRED - Space is limited and on a first come first served basis. Walk-in Registration begins JUNE 1^ST . Phone registration begins JUNE 2^nd. Science in the Summer registration is from May 19^th to June 12^th. Science in the Summer participants are selected through a lottery.

KIDS AND TEENS SUMMER READING CLUB

June 16 – August 15. Set your goals to catch the Reading Bug. Join the Summer Reading Club and receive free weekly prizes. Receive your prize starting June 23^rd. Summer Reading Club Wrap-Up Party for Grades 6-12 Thursday, August 14^th at 5:00 P.M.. All other children Wrap- Up the Summer Reading Club Tuesday, August 26th at 6:30 P.M. Register and set your goals starting June 1^st.

INFANT STORY TIME (with adult)

Mondays @ 10:00 A.M. Books, music, finger plays, rhymes and puppets. Ages birth to 24 months. June 30-July 21.

TODDLER, TOYS AND TALES (with adult)

Tuesdays @ 9:30 A.M. or 10:30 A.M. Stories, songs, and playtime for children ages 1-3½. June 17-July 29,(except July 1) Space is limited.

PRESCHOOL STORY TIME

Wednesdays @ 9:30 A.M. or 10:30 A.M. Stories, songs and crafts for kids ages 3½ - 5. June 18^th-July 30 (except July 2)

KIDS CLUB

Thursdays @ 9:30 A.M or 10:30 A.M. Stories, games and crafts for kids from grade 1-5. Special guests related to our “Catch the Reading Bug” are scheduled. Check EVENTKEEPER for details. June 19-July 31 (except July 3).

SCIENCE IN THE SUMMER

BIOSCIENCE - An exceptional program sponsored by GlaxoSmithKline is open to students entering grades 2 through 6. Second & third grades – June 30 – July 3 10:00 A.M. or 2:00 P.M. Fourth to sixth grades - June 30 – July 3 11:00 A.M. or 3:00 P.M. A parent or legal guardian must complete release form (available in the lower library) Space is limited. Participants must attend all 4 days. Registration is from May 19 to June 12.

CHILDRENS PROGRAMS AND SERVICES

YOUNG REMBRANDTS

Foundation art skills in a fun environment are open to kids in grades 1- 5. Mondays, July 7-21 at 11:00 A.M. until noon. Participants must attend all 3 classes. Registration required.

FUN FRIDAYS

All events are in Garling Hall at 10:00 A.M.

June 20( ages 2 and up) Go Buggy With David Perry comedy, music, and cartoons.

June 27( ages 4 and older) Piccirillo Science Telling science show of “Bug experiments gone horribly wrong”

July 11 (all ages) Sparkle the Clown leap, hop, wiggle, and waddle in this musical program.

July 18( ages 4 and older) Eric Dasher Magic

July 25 ( no children under 4 please) Jungle John will have demonstration bugs as well as live bugs.

August 1 (ages 8 and under) Makin’ Music dance and sing along with your favorite songs.
