The Picture Perfect STEM and Picture Perfect Science Lessons were developed by Emily Morgan and Karen Ansberry to help those working with elementary students integrate science and reading in a kid-friendly way. Use this brochure to see what is available in print or electronic format and to learn about the kits that are available to be booked by your local librarian.

GSK Science in the Summer™ is a free science education program that helps elementary school children “grow into science.” Through classes held in public libraries and other community-based organizations, the program gets kids excited about learning science with hands-on experiments. 

Children's Books in ASL

Located in the field behind the amphitheater stage, StoryWalk is a children's story book that is spread out page by page across 19 reading stations along an approximately .25 mile trail that promotes health and literacy in children. 

Storyline Online is a program of the SAG-AFTRA Foundation. designed to strengthen comprehension and verbal and written skills for elementary English-language learners.

This year’s Summer Quest theme is Tails and Tales! Libraries across Delaware County will be offering fun programs and activities related to animal tales and education, so check our library calendar as summer gets closer. Beginning on June 1, all Delco Libraries will offer a Tales and Tails on-line reading challenge.  Pre-registration will begin May 17th.

More than 400 original picture books, one fourth of them written in Spanish. The digital books provide audio narrations in more than 40 languages, spoken by native speakers in warm, expressive voices.

Wildlife Education at Delaware County Libraries

The wildlife education programs available at libraries across Delaware County are made possible by a generous grant from The Community’s Foundation. Look for new programs in 2021 that support our Summer Quest theme: Tales and Tails.
