Literacy First, originally an audiovisual and multilingual presentation, was funded by the National Library of Medicine, National
Institutes of Health, Department of Health and Human Services.
Its primary purpose: to lead target groups--native speakers
of English who have reading/writing challenges and early
ELL (English Language Learning) students or candidates--to
useful consumer-health information.
