Delaware County residents can save time by filling out an application online
In an effort to provide residents of Delaware County better access to their local libraries, Delaware County Libraries is launching online library card registration! Online library card registration will launch on September 21, 2018 during Library Card Sign-up Month.
To register for a library card online, residents of Delaware County can visit www.delcolibraries.org and click on the “Get a Library Card” icon on the home page. After clicking on the icon, users will see a link to register online. Fill out the appropriate information such as name, address and email address, and a temporary barcode will be issued. Remember this number is to access a limited number of resources like placing a hold on a book.
A physical library card will be mailed within three to five business days. After receiving a physical library card, users will have 30 days to go to their local library to verify their account. A photo identification, such as a driver's license, is preferred for account verification but libraries will also accept utility bills that correspond with the address listed on the application.
“I’m excited to unveil this service to residents of Delaware County during Library Card Sign-up Month,” said Delaware County Libraries Director Catherine Bittle. “We hope that offering online library card registrations will remove barriers for those who might have a hard time getting to the library to sign up for a library card. Our mission is to have everyone in Delaware County registered for a library card and take advantage of the wonderful services libraries offer.”
