This May, We're STEM Focused!

Here at Delaware County Libraries, we have STEM on the brain for the month of May! The lottery for registration for this year’s Science in the Summer opened on May 9 and runs through 5pm on June 3. The theme for the 2022 program is Be a Biologist! Students will tackle real world problems in the field of biology such as a “solving a mystery at a troubled fishery, uncovering ancient fossils, planning the perfect plant habitats and lending a hand to threatened hummingbirds.” For more information about Science in the Summer: http://scienceinthesummer.fi.edu/phila

This month we have also launched our new STEM Kits, which are available for patrons to check out. Each kit contains a science, technology, engineering, or math manipulative, which can help children develop 21st century skills through hands on play. Try out the Edison Robots, Cubetto, Gravity Maze, Solar Robot Kit, and much more! See the complete list here: http://www.delcolibraries.org/sites/default/files/stem_kit_patron_march_2022.pdf

Also, check out all of the STEM events happening in libraries this month. From Coding Club to STEM Exploration Stations, our libraries offer STEM programming for kids of all ages. See the complete list of events here: http://bit.ly/DCLSTEM
