For the 31st year, the Mad Poets Society, in conjunction with Delaware County Libraries, presents the Delaware County Young Poets Competition. The contest is open to students in Delaware County in 1st through 12th grades. The deadline is Monday, March 9, 2020.
Winners will be listed on the Delaware County Libraries website in April and have their poems displayed in our StoryWalk at Rose Tree Park.
The Young Poets Competition will culminate in a special awards event on Sunday, May 17, 2020, at 1:00 p.m., featuring the thirty-six winners of the poetry competition (1st through 3rd prize in 1st through 12th grade) who will read their winning poems at the Redwood Community Playhouse on 6th Street in Upland, Delaware County. The contest is sponsored by the Mad Poets Society, Delaware County Libraries, Pennsylvania Poetry Society, Rose Tree Media Optimists Club, Keystone State Literacy Association: Delaware, and Pennsylvania Council on the Arts. Admission is free.
