Delaware County Libraries has some fun and exciting programs going on in February!
Kids! Again this year, Delaware County Libraries will be awarding a Mock Ezra Jack Keats Award and we need your vote! The Ezra Jack Keats Award was created to nurture illustrators and writers, early in their careers, who create extraordinary books that reflect our diverse population, the universal experience of childhood, and the strength of family. All you need to do to be a judge is to read or listen to at least three of the nominated titles, evaluate each book using the judge’s questions as a guide, and vote for your favorite book by dropping off your ballot to any local library or casting your vote online between February 1st - 28th. Teens can join us for our third annual Teen Art Contest! This year, artists will submit original artwork inspired by the Longwood Gardens Community Read theme of trees. Submissions are being accepted in person at local libraries or online through February 25. Each local library winner will receive a sketchpad and pencil kit, a ticket good for up to 4 people for entry to Longwood Gardens and their artwork displayed at Rose Tree Park and as part of our annual Poetry Contest Anthology. The County-wide winner will be announced April 1st & will receive a teen book basket and their artwork will grace the front cover of our annual Poetry Contest Anthology.
