On July 6, Delaware County Libraries welcomed Anny Laepple as its new Assistant Director/District Consultant.
Laepple has a BA in Italian Studies from George Washington University and an MLIS from the University of Pittsburgh. She served as the Youth Services Manager at the Haverford Township Free Library for 9 years and as the Executive Director of the Radnor Memorial Library for 5 years. Long before becoming a professional librarian, she spent her tween and teen years as a volunteer at her hometown library, the Priestley Forsyth Memorial Library in Northumberland, PA.
In her role at RML, Laepple helped lead a capital campaign that raised more than $1million for the full renovation and expansion of the library building. She oversaw that renovation and the eventual reopening of the new space. Helping to craft RML's new strategic plan for 2019-2024 was one of her favorite projects while with the organization.
“Anny Laepple brings a wealth of experience and knowledge and we are excited that she will be applying her talents to benefit the Delaware County library community,” said Catherine Bittle, Director of Delaware County Libraries.
Laepple lives in Havertown with her husband, new baby, and elderly cat. Her childhood copy of Shel Silverstein's Where the Sidewalk Ends is one of her most prized possessions.
Laepple replaces Janis Stubbs who retired in January after 38 years of service to Delaware County Libraries.
