It's that time again! As part of our celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Coretta Scott King Book Award, StoryWalk has a new featured book! Goin' Someplace Special is a picture book about growing up in the segregated South and how one girl finds her inner strength in the midst of difficult circumstances. The book was written by Patricia C. McKissack, a multiple CSK honor winner, and illustrated by Jerry Pinkney who was awarded the Coretta Scott King–Virginia Hamilton Award for Lifetime Achievement in 2016. The book is a testament to the importance of libraries and their commitment to providing access to all. It is a perfect fit for Library Card Sign-Up Month as well.
