Sunday, August 25th is Delco Library Night with Bethlehem Steel! Join us at 6:00pm in Talen Energy Stadium, home of the Philadelphia Union. Representatives from Delaware County Libraries will be at the game and there will be a special giveaway for anyone who either shows their library card or signs up for one at the Delaware County Libraries table. For tickets visit https://www.philadelphiaunion.com/bethlehem-steel-fc/tickets.
Delaware County Libraries has also teamed up with Bethlehem Steel, the Philadelphia Union’s minor league soccer club, to start a summer reading program. The Steel FC Reading Program will run from June 1st to August 31st. Kids participating in the program have the opportunity to earn a free ticket to any Bethlehem Steel home game just for reading!
Kids can pick up a Steel FC Reading Program card at any Delaware County library. For every 45 minutes read they color in a soccer ball on the card. When all 11 soccer balls are colored in, kids can return their card to any Delaware County library in exchange for a promo code redeemable online for one free ticket to any Steel home game between June 9th and September 18th.
“We’re excited to partner with Bethlehem Steel FC to offer residents of Delaware County the opportunity to read during the summer and enjoy a family friendly environment with discounted tickets to a Steel FC game,” said Delaware County Libraries Youth Services Coordinator Cheri Crow.
